Safe Sitter® is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The Instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises.

7th Annual City Park Skate Jam

Our 7th Annual City Park Skate Jam will be held on Saturday,August 10th at City Park. This year the annual back to school bash event willonce again be free to all ages! Summer Day Camp 2019

It’s that time again! Summer is around the corner, and what better way to spend it than at the Imperial Park Recreation Center! Enroll your kids in a summer camp full of fun, adventure, and new friends! Each week will feature a new sports theme and include a field trip, pizza party and pool days! Ages 5-13 years old are welcome.

How to Register

  1. In person at the Imperial Park Recreation Center using a credit or debit card, cash, or check.
  2. By sending the ‘Information Form’ and ‘Registration Waiver Form’ to parkreservations@sugarlandtx.gov. Upon receipt of these items, you will receive a phone call to complete payment over the phone.
  3. Returning customers only: Online by visiting parkreservations.sugarlandtx.gov

Registration opens on April 1 for residents and April 8 for Non-Residents. A $35 deposit/week is required to hold the camper’s spot. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the start date.

Camp Einstein

Transform into an engineer with hands-on projects in this exciting and challenging summer camp. Build roller coasters and hovercrafts. Learn about solar power and build race cars! Design catapults and trebuchets and see how far you can launch! Ever wonder how a car works? What makes a clock tick? Creativity and ingenuity are what this camp is all about. LEGO Camp

Develop and enhance students' problem solving and critical thinking skills. Expose children to concepts and vocabulary of Engineering, Architecture and Physics. Chess Camp

Join us this summer for tons of challenging chess lessons, exciting games, and cool prizes. You'll improve your chess skills, meet new friends, and work out your most powerful muscle - your brain! Art Class by Jamar Simien

Description: Explore the amazing world of art with Jamar Simien, award winning art teacher and professional fine artist. Participants will have the opportunity to learn new techniques and improve their existing skills. The art academy is geared for children that are dedicated to getting better and enjoy being challenged creatively. 2019 Houston Rockets Summer Mini Dribblers Clinic

The Houston Rockets Mini Dribbler summer league is anexcellent way to introduce our young, future basketball players to thefundamentals of dribbling and working alongside others. Each age division willmeet each Sunday from 1:30pm - 3:30pm and it will include a 20 minute practicefollowed by a 20 minute game. Baskets are lowered to the appropriate height foreach age group. 2019 Fundamental Volleyball Camp 

For students that would like to learn how to play volleyball and prepare for their middle school tryouts. Campers will learn all the skills needed to play the game of volleyball (Passing, Setting, Hitting, and Serving). Campers will participate in fundamental volleyball drills, multi-skill drills, fun lead up games, and simulated game play. Campers need to wear tennis shoes, a t-shirt, and comfortable shorts. 2019 Advanced Volleyball Camp 


This camp is for volleyball players that have played on an organized volleyball team or attended our Fundamental Volleyball Camp. This camp is full of fast pace drills that will take your game to the next level. Campers will take part in a two on two, a four on four, and a six on six tournaments. Come ready to work hard!!! Campers will need to wear a t-shirt, comfortable shorts, knee pads, and tennis shoes. You can register by phone at 281-275-2885 or in person at the Imperial Park Recreation Center!

2019 Swim Lessons

Swim Lessons will once again be held at the city pool this summer! These classes will be offered at all levels and are taught by certified swim lesson instructors. Pricing for these two week sessions are $70 per session for Residents of Sugar Land or $85 per session for Non-Residents. Each session is scheduled for two weeks, Tuesday-Thursday.
