Residential Services
Update: February 23
Republic Services continues to experience increased volumes of garbage generated from the weather event. In an effort to prioritize garbage collection for all residents, green waste collection this week has been suspended. All available resources are being allocated to complete the remaining collection services as quickly as possible. Should you not receive garbage or recycle collection according to your normal schedule this week, please leave your carts at the curb as Republic Services will return to any areas where collection was not completed. We appreciate your patience as we continue to recover from this event.

Bulk waste collection due to the February weather event
Due to the recent freezing temperatures and power outages that occurred throughout our region, the City of Sugar Land has modified the upcoming bulk waste collection schedule to provide all residents the opportunity to remove debris from their damaged homes. The list of accepted bulk waste items has been temporarily expanded to include construction and demolition debris generated from the weather event. Below is the schedule for the initial round of bulk waste collection.
Bulk Waste Service Area | Upcoming Collection Day |
---|---|
4th Monday Collection | Normal bulk waste collection on Mon., Feb. 22nd |
3rd Monday Collection | Normal bulk waste collection rescheduled to Tues., Feb. 23rd |
2nd Monday Collection | Extra bulk waste collection on Sat., Feb. 27th |
1st Monday Collection | Normal bulk waste collection on Mon., March 1st |
Planning efforts are underway to provide a second round of bulk waste collection for all residents in the coming weeks. Please continue to monitor our residential solid waste services page for further updates to the bulk waste collection schedule. For questions, please contact 3-1-1 or 281-275-2900, or email SolidWaste@SugarLandTX.gov.
