The City of Sugar Land is number one in Texas with its 78% Census response rate for cities with populations over 100,000. Sugar Land is asking residents to continue doing their part and encourage community members who have yet to respond to complete their Census by September 30.
Census data is used to gain an accurate count of the community, which determines how much money the city receives from the federal government. By filling out the nine-question form, residents offer their community the chance to better the roads, support local businesses and improve the city's infrastructure.
Filling out your Census takes less than 10 minutes and can be done by phone or at my2020Census.gov. In-person Census takers will visit unresponsive households. The Census taker will wear a mask and follow all local public health guidelines if they visit your home.
