Open House 2020

Learn about mobility and drainage projects, get a behind-the-scenes look at public safety vehicles, and fill out the U.S. Census all during the city’s family-friendly Open House event April 1.

The free event is open to the public and will be held at City Hall, 2700 Town Center Blvd. North, from 5-7 p.m. City departments will staff tables to explain new projects and programs provided to residents.

Interactive activities for children will be set up, as well as planned appearances by Swatson, the Sugar Land Skeeters mascot; Soapy, the Sugar Land Fire Department mascot, and more!

Here are some of the fun things in store!

Event attendees may:
  • visit with the mayor and City Council members
  • celebrate National Census Day by completing the Census
  • play games from the Sugar Cube, our block party trailer
  • tour the mobile command post and other safety vehicles
  • get tips from crime prevention officers
  • get the latest crime statistics
  • learn about drainage projects
  • discuss projects to improve mobility
  • learn about the city of Sugar Land’s 2020-2021 budget
  • have children fingerprinted
  • visit with staff representing a variety of City departments
